He also launched two newly acquired aircraft for the Cross River State government at the Margaret Ekpo International Airport in Calabar.

With these additions, the Cally Air airline fleet now expands to four aircraft. The Vice President, representing President Bola Tinubu, praised the State government for this achievement.

Governor Bassey Otu expressed his appreciation to the President for allowing Shettima to stand in for him at this significant event.

Otu mentioned that he is building upon the efforts and successes of his predecessors, Donald Duke, Liyel Imoke, and Ben Ayade, who established a solid foundation in three crucial areas. He noted that these foundations have been instrumental in his consolidation efforts.

“Donald Duke brought a focus on tourism, Senator Imoke emphasized rural development, while Ayade concentrated on industrial growth.

“It was Ayade who initiated the aviation sector by purchasing the first two aircraft.

“I am now enhancing their contributions. With these two new aircraft, we are ready to enhance the state’s tourism potential. We plan to add two more aircraft soon to dominate the Gulf of Guinea air route.
