Paul Ibe, spokesperson for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, expressed his disapproval on Monday regarding the incident involving the crew of Ibom Air and airport security personnel who assaulted a passenger, Ms. Comfort Emmanson.

Ibe criticized the choice to attack Emmanson while allowing Fuji artist, Ayinde Marshal, known as KWAM 1, to leave the tarmac under similar conditions. A video surfaced online depicting the Ibom Air crew forcibly removing Emmanson from the plane.
The reason behind the incident is not immediately clear. Nonetheless, Ibe urged for proactive measures against misconduct.
In a post on X, Ibe stated: “The assault by Ibom Air crew and airport security officials on Sunday against passenger Ms. Comfort Emmanson highlights the need for us to be intentional about addressing bad behavior early on.
“There’s a tendency to praise the airport security officials for their quick action in removing the disruptive passenger from the aircraft and the tarmac.
“However, one must ask: Why wasn’t KWAM 1 also forcibly removed from the tarmac in the same way when he obstructed ValueJet Airline operations in Abuja last week in a manner akin to hostage-taking? Perhaps it’s because Comfort is not an ally of the President.
“This is why authorities should have set a precedent with KWAM 1 to prevent similar situations like that of passenger Comfort from evolving into a KWAM 2 scenario.
“The pressing question is, when will KWAM 1 face court alongside Comfort? The world, particularly the international aviation community, is observing. @fkeyamo @fmaviationng @NigeriaCAA.
