United has announced that there will be “a special ceremony” featuring both players and fans to celebrate his contributions to the club.
De Gea made 545 appearances during his 12-year tenure with the Premier League team, establishing himself as one of the most significant figures in the club’s recent history.
He left as a free agent in the summer of 2023 after then-manager Erik ten Hag chose not to extend his contract.
After a year away from football, De Gea joined the Italian club Fiorentina. This Saturday’s match will be his first return to Old Trafford since his controversial departure.
