Renewed optimism has led to suffering for Nigerians – Delta cleric evaluates Tinubu’s two-year leadership

A Christian leader, Prophet Austin Ariole, has criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his All Progressives Congress (APC), stating that his administration is fraught with numerous difficulties.

Prophet Ariole, from the Goshen Freedom Tabernacle (GFT) in Delta State, expressed that the renewed hope agenda has caused significant pain and distress for Nigerians, leaving out the elites and politicians.

This was revealed in a statement issued by the cleric while reviewing the President’s performance over the past two years.

Prophet Ariole pointed out that it is well-documented that he took bold actions in eliminating the petrol subsidy, saying, “the pain is beyond managing.”

He remarked, “One of the most concerning aspects of this administration is the allocation of projects across all geopolitical zones that are merely documented, but the execution remains a challenge. How many kilometers is it from Benin to Warri, and from Benin to Abuja? Yet, there are no roads.

“Why does the train stop at Itakpe or Ajakuta? Is it not feasible to extend the railway to Abuja? Every project seems like an illusion.”

Prophet Ariole further stated, “The coastal road is a fantastic initiative, but I doubt any progress is being made there now. It won’t be finished under Tinubu, and that poses a significant issue.

“I came across the contract for the refurbishment of a wing at Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos. Isn’t that amount excessive? Many people are suffering from frustration and hunger, and these projects do not seem to benefit the average citizen.

“I hear the student loan program is currently in place; my question is, how will these students repay it when there are no job opportunities for graduates in Nigeria? After youth service, most start small businesses like POS or driving Keke; is that the reward or outcome of their education?

“Can we blame the youth who turn to internet fraud today? Back in the 90s, while in university, there was so much hope that we would find employment right after graduation.
