As per the statement, the clarification was made on Tuesday during the official handover of the site for the construction of new office buildings to the contractor, Mapet Construction Ltd., in the state capital.

During the brief ceremony, the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Dr. Segun Ogunsola, stated that the ongoing project is not a new Government House but rather additional office spaces intended to accommodate more civil and public servants.

“There is no intention to construct a new Government House. What we are doing is building new office blocks to enhance effective service delivery. The circulating rumor is false,” Dr. Ogunsola remarked.

He elaborated that the new one-storey building, situated next to the Deputy Governor’s Office, will feature several offices, a conference room, and other working facilities.

He further mentioned that this initiative is part of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s dedication to providing a more functional and decent working environment for government employees.

“These new offices will address existing gaps and align with the current trend of improving the smooth operation of the state.

Dr. Ogunsola assured that the project will be closely monitored to ensure it is completed within the designated one-year timeframe. He encouraged the contractor to deliver high-quality work in accordance with the approved specifications.
