The two men were murdered Thursday night by masked individuals brandishing AK-47 rifles, according to human rights campaigner Harrison Gwamnishu’s Facebook page.
Although the Delta State Police Command has taken action, these criminals have regrouped and are committing horrific acts again, as Gwamnishu put it.
While praising the efforts of the Delta State Government under Sheriff Oborevwori to protect lives and property, Gwamnishu made it clear that similar incidences will continue unless the strategy is changed. Please stay law-abiding, my brothers in Ubulu-Okiti. Take heart.”
The event remains unconfirmed despite our reporter sending a text message to SP Bright Edafe, the public relations officer for the Delta State Police.
The families of the deceased have been condoled by Kelvin Ejumudo, who is a Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Human Rights. There needs to be a joint security effort to curb future occurrences,” he stated.
