Their promotions were announced at two different stadiums in Delta State: the Southern Delta University Stadium in Ozoro and the Stephen Keshi International Stadium in Asaba.

The northern conference was won by Bauchi’s Wikki Tourists Football Club and Kano’s Barau Football Club, who advanced to the Nigeria Premier League. The southern conference was won by Owerri’s Warri Wolves Football Club and Kun Khalifat Football Club.

The northern conference group was topped by Wikki Tourists FC with five points after their 4:0 win over Yobe Desert Stars Football Club in the last group match. Barau FC finished second in the group with five points, one point less than Wikki Tourists, but separated by two goals.

Warri Wolves finished first in their southern conference group after defeating Crown FC 2:1, and Kun Khalifat Football Club beat Osun United Football Club 2:1 as well.

Warri Wolves Football Club has returned to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), and the Delta State Football Association (DFA) has congratulated them on their achievement.

Hon. Godwin Adode, Chairman of the DFA, issued a formal statement in which he praised the Seasiders’ promotion to the top division and conveyed deep gratitude to Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State, for his steadfast dedication and encouragement, which Adode claimed were crucial to the club’s triumphant campaign.

He spoke highly of the moment, saying it was a triumph for Delta State football and the culmination of the team’s months of dedication, perseverance, and discipline on the field.

Napoleon Aluma, head coach of the Warri Wolves football club, expressed his team’s elation at the victory and extended gratitude to the Asaba community, the Delta State government, and the club’s fans for their overwhelming support.

According to Aluma, the Warri Wolves were well-prepared for the encounter. He praised the players for playing up to expectations and promised that the state would be pleased of Warri Wolves’ return to the NPFL.

All of us are celebrating something special today. The emotion is palpable—we are elated and thrilled. Our return to the NPFL is a matter of faith, since it has always been our rightful place. We battled with passion and commitment to win both of our games thus far,” Aluma said.

Warri Wolves’ promotion is a sign of the state’s football ecosystem’s consistent improvement, according to the DFA, who also stressed that it is a triumph for the club.

At the same time, the Warri Wolves Football Club’s players were celebrating like crazy as they made their long-awaited return to the NPFL following their relegation from the NNL.

Following their 2:1 triumph over Crown FC, the players and hundreds of their supporters celebrated in the pouring rain.

This coming Saturday in Asaba, Nigeria, will be the 2025/2026 season’s NNL Super Eight League championship match.

Warri Wolves and other clubs in the state will continue to get support from the Delta Football Association. Their goal is to maintain excellence and expand on this current triumph.
