The deal comes just days after Williams had his trade to Barcelona shelved. Williams and his agent introduced fresh requirements that entirely halted the negotiations.
The player and his agent’s demands were deemed “completely unacceptable” by Barcelona, leading to the cessation of negotiations.
Williams cannot be registered by the Blaugrana, according to LaLiga president Javier Tebas. Tebas claims that the Catalan club does not have the funds necessary to sign the Spain international. Already, Barcelona and LaLiga are at odds over who gets to sign Dani Olmo and Pau Victor.
